"Actress Jane Randolph dies at 94 Starred in several film noir classics of the '40s

Jane Randolph, who appeared in several film noir classics of the 1940s, died of complications of a broken hip May 4 in Gstaad, Switzerland. She was 94.

Randolph starred in "Cat People" and in "Curse of the Cat People." Her other lead roles included "Highways by Night," "Jealousy," "Railroaded" and "Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein" as well as in two films featuring the Falcon detective.

Born in Youngstown, Ohio, she retired from acting after marrying producer and businessman Jaime del almo and moved to Spain."

Brief Jane Randolph Biography

In 1942 Jane Randolph began with RKO with Highways by Night (1942). The Lewton Cat People and Curse of the Cat People followed at RKO (she also made two Falcon films while at RKO, appearing with her Cat People co-star Tom Conway). She appeared in several early "noir" films, and played one of the two female leads in Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

Shortly following that film, she married producer Jaime del Amo and retired to Spain. Judging form the limited info at IMDB, Jane Randolph pursued painting after leaving Hollywood, though she made a brief cameo appearance in That Lady in 1955.

She had one daughter, Cristina del Amo.
